  1. Dear Scott Rudolph,

Why don't you just marry Damien Callahan since you guys love The Shins and Arcade Fire so much.

    Your friend,

  2. ... not to mention my skills as a lover more than make up for my questionable taste in music.

  3. I have listened to Damien's mix. Damien and i are now musical lovers. We will lay in bed all day and listen to music that moves us. This is a powerful project, Audrey, with very unexpected consequences.

  4. Scott, we're you worried about going from lil Stevie to Beirut in one trip? I feel like there should have been a pit-stop in Flaming Lipsville first, or something.

  5. They both have a driving beat which accentualtes the first down beat. The staccato beat and worldy sensibilites of each song link them. Also, As a bonus, Stevie says Beirut at the beginning of the song. I started with a Stevie song to grab you, then went with a follow of swooning upliftation, rather than just go straight forward into something "faster" or more energetic. Also, do the decending Stevie piano line in your head. Then do the acceending Beirut horn climb. That is good stuff! Now you're feeling it! I also enjoy the subtle dual movement this progression adds to the mix, an increase in emotion with a slight decrease in tempo.
